I have trained in several effective counseling methods including:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Regulation (EMDR)

EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution-focused therapy is a form of counseling that focuses on helping clients find specific solutions to their current struggles.

The focus of therapy is on the present situation and how you can develop a better future.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a well-researched method of therapy that helps people overcome unhelpful and distorted thoughts and replace them with more positive and healthy ones.

Structural Family Therapy

Family therapy examines patterns of interaction within couples and families that are causing problems.

The focus of treatment is on improving the structure, dynamics, and communication within the family.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

TFCBT is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy used to treat clients struggling with trauma that occurred early in life. The goal is to heal through changing thoughts related to traumatic events.

At Abundant Life Counseling, you will have the benefit of a small practice.  I will handle every aspect of your therapy- you won't have to contact different people to deal with billing or scheduling.  I hope to make what can be a complicated process straightforward and seamless.
